{"id":349,"date":"2007-12-18T14:11:36","date_gmt":"2007-12-18T13:11:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.free-from.com\/blog\/?p=349"},"modified":"2017-05-20T12:18:15","modified_gmt":"2017-05-20T11:18:15","slug":"gluten-free-casein-free-gingerbread-nativity-scene","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.free-from.com\/blog\/gluten-free-casein-free-gingerbread-nativity-scene\/","title":{"rendered":"Gluten free Casein free gingerbread nativity scene"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t know if you&#8217;ve been over to<a href=\"http:\/\/onlysometimesclever.wordpress.com\/2007\/12\/08\/holy-cow-first-place-in-the-gingerbread-house-competition\/\"> Only Sometimes Clever<\/a> to admire her GFCF gingerbread house &#8211; if not, you should.<\/p>\n<p>We used her recipe for GFCF gingerbread dough to make a nativity scene, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bayvillagestore.com\/nabaset.html\">using cutters available here<\/a> (thanks Karen for sharing a US link &#8211; mine came from somewhere like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tridias.co.uk\">Tridias<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gltc.co.uk\">Great Little Trading Company<\/a> years ago &#8211; they don&#8217;t sell them now).  <\/p>\n<p>Well, when I say &#8216;we&#8217;, what I mean is that my 12-year-old coeliac made the dough and then cut out and baked the shapes.  She and my other two (both younger than her) then &#8216;decorated&#8217; the shapes and stuck them together.  Completely unsupervised.  In fact, they had a sign on the kitchen door that said &#8216;no entry until 4pm&#8217;. <\/p>\n<p>This is what they were doing:<\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/www.free-from.com\/blog\/wp-content\/gfcfnativity.jpg' alt='GFCF Nativity' \/><img src='http:\/\/www.free-from.com\/blog\/wp-content\/gfcfnativity2.jpg' alt='GFCF Nativity' \/><\/p>\n<p>It isn&#8217;t how I&#8217;d have done it, but I don&#8217;t think that matters.  I&#8217;m delighted with this colourful nativity scene &#8211; and it smells wonderful.<\/p>\n<p>Have you spotted the green cow, the yellow camels and the sheep out behind the stable?
