{"id":452,"date":"2008-07-11T14:14:45","date_gmt":"2008-07-11T13:14:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.free-from.com\/blog\/?p=452"},"modified":"2017-05-20T12:11:17","modified_gmt":"2017-05-20T11:11:17","slug":"sainsburys-withdraws-freefrom-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.free-from.com\/blog\/sainsburys-withdraws-freefrom-products\/","title":{"rendered":"Sainsburys withdraws FreeFrom products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sainsburys, one of the better-stocked supermarkets for gluten free products, has found that two of its free from products may contain traces of gluten.<\/p>\n<p>These are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\nSainsbury\u2019s Freefrom Stuffing 113g, with best before dates up to and including March 2009<\/li>\n<li>Sainsbury\u2019s Freefrom Breadcrumbs 113g, with best before dates up to and including April 2009<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sainsbury&#8217;s has withdrawn the products and contacted Coeliac UK, as well as displaying notices in all the stores.  I hope they&#8217;re going to put the notices on the free from shelves, as well as on the noticeboard, so that they reach the coeliacs &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve bought them, don&#8217;t eat them &#8211; take them back!<\/p>\n<p>It seems particularly shocking that a product explicitly made to be gluten free, and sold as gluten free, should contain gluten.  I&#8217;m not surprised when I receive one of these alerts to find that a standard product has been found to have unsuspected gluten in it &#8230; but for this to happen to a prepared, gluten free product is bad.<\/p>\n<p>Very embarrassing for Sainsbury&#8217;s, and I hope the other supermarkets are checking their versions of these products too &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sainsburys, one of the better-stocked supermarkets for gluten free products, has found that two of its free from products may contain traces of gluten.
