Allergy Alert: Tesco own-brand Flaked Pudding Rice

You’d expect a bag of plain rice to be gluten free, wouldn’t you?

Unfortunately, due to a production error, Tesco has had to recall one batch of its own-brand Flaked Pudding Rice due to the possible presence of wheat which is not declared on the label.

This product is:

Flaked Pudding Rice 250g in a plastic film bag
Best before: August 2011
Batch code: L0049A8701

For more information, see the Food Standards Agency.

Tesco are doing their best to notify people of this error. If you’ve bought this product, don’t eat it but take it back to the store.

I’ve written a book summarising what we’ve learnt over 20 years of dealing with the gluten free diet, and it might be just what you’re looking for. It packs the lessons we’ve learned into what I hope is a helpful and straightforward guidebook. It’s available on Amazon, as a paperback or for your Kindle…
