Gluten Free Ready Meals

How often do you come in from a long day and wish there was something you could just stick in the oven to heat up?

Today I came across Intolerable Food, which is a mail-order firm offering meat, fish and vegetarian ready meals which are both gluten and dairy free. I haven’t tried them yet, but they certainly look good, and having a couple of these in the freezer might just give you a much needed extra half-hour one evening, with your feet up and a glass of wine in your hand. They come in one or two portion sizes.

Now, doesn’t that sound good? And even better when you know that Sue creates these meals from locally sourced produce. She’s based in Sussex, and will deliver locally but there is also a nationwide mail order service (yes, I know that adds food-miles, but you can’t have everything).

And what a brilliant name!

I’ve written a book summarising what we’ve learnt over 20 years of dealing with the gluten free diet, and it might be just what you’re looking for. It packs the lessons we’ve learned into what I hope is a helpful and straightforward guidebook. It’s available on Amazon, as a paperback or for your Kindle…

Hi clare – thanks for visiting.

I agree with you about price – I must check out the other ready meals you recommend. Ocado will deliver to me, though Sainsbury’s won’t … I love home delivery!

I am looking for gluten free delivery meals for my son. He is fifteen years old. I am having hard time in finding lunches for my son.

Hi Alcie. Is it packed lunches for school you’re looking for, or meals for at home? Either way, it’s a difficult one, and delivery meals can get expensive. Where are you – UK? America? Somewhere else?

Tell us where you are based, and maybe someone can help.

I do not know when the school can provide gluten free lunches for kids who cannot have wheat. I feel very frustrated. I live in San Marino, California.

We run a small company in Herefordshire making handmade frozen ready meals, which we dispatch around the UK. 17 of our dishes are gluten free, including chicken Korma, beef bourguignon, chilli con carne, aromatic lamb to name just a few. Check us out at http://www.chefonboard.com

Hi Olivia – thanks for letting us know. It’s always good to hear of a company that has thought about providing gluten free options.

And I can see you’ve even made it really obvious on your site that they are gluten free – great!
